Why We Built Numbish: Moving Beyond Marketing Fluff

If you’ve spent any time reading our notes here, you know we care deeply about the how and the why of building software. We don’t look at AI or code as magic bullets—they are tools of the craft. And as an AI-first tech studio, we ship a lot of different things: internal experiments, client web apps, and standalone SaaS products like Hourvy.

But as we kept building, we realized something was missing.

Most software landing pages look exactly the same. They highlight the features, show a few polished UI mockups, and obscure all the messy, interesting realities of how the product actually works in the wild. You get the pitch, but you rarely get the truth.

We wanted a dedicated space to document our builds with absolute transparency. So, we built it: Numbish.com.

What is Numbish? Think of Numbish as Suswo’s open laboratory notebook and critical review archive. It is a platform dedicated to tracking, analyzing, and reviewing the products, client projects, and digital experiments we ship.

Instead of hiding behind marketing copy, Numbish is structured around four core pillars:

  1. Product Reviews: Direct, opinionated assessments of tools—breaking down exactly who they are for and who should skip them entirely.
  2. Pros & Cons: A no-nonsense breakdown of structural trade-offs. If a tool we built has a steep learning curve or a specific limitation, it goes on the board.
  3. Case Studies: Deep dives into real-world client outcomes (like our recent work rebuilding the digital infrastructure for BNEX in Melbourne), detailing the exact execution and delivery lessons learned along the way.
  4. Build Notes: Raw architectural choices, technical hurdles, and engineering updates directly from the developers working on the code.

The Craft Behind the Content When we launched Hourvy to fix the chaotic loop of tracking hourly payroll over scattered WhatsApp threads, we wrote a massive engineering postmortem. We realized that information shouldn't just sit in internal team docs or get buried under feature logs.

Numbish is our attempt to respect the craft of product development by keeping a public record. If we build a custom AI pipeline that saves a client dozens of hours a week, we want to share the architecture. If we ship a feature that misses the mark, we want to review it honestly, give it a rating, and document the pivot.

Explore the VaultWe’re treating Numbish as a living portfolio. The platform is already live, featuring build notes on Hourvy's architecture, deep dives into modern SaaS payroll design, and breakdown analyses of real-world deployment challenges.
